We will use Hatcher's Algebraic Topology and will supplement a bit from his other two books (here and here ).
Syllabus
We will cover higher homotopy groups, homology and cohomology, and additional topics (e.g., stable homotopy groups of spheres, spectral sequences, homological stability).
Grading
Homework will be assigned bi-weekly, roughly 6-7 problems. Students are expected to work on
the problems first individually, then to meet as a group to disucss
the problems. Each student is expected to submit one LaTeX'd solution
for each assignment.
There will also be an "in class" take home final exam.
